Collaboration Refelction

Hi bloggers, this blog is going to be about me talking about the collaboration in my PBL group. With my PBL group we have been making a fun game for our school fair. As you know my group is doing Knock down. There is more info on my week 3 writing task. We have been put into mixed up groups to show the teachers that we can use the six c's.

Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication, Character and Citizenship.

Here is my Reflection.

How I used Collaboration.
I have respected other people's ideas in my group and also suggestions from other groups.
I have shared my ideas to my group.
I have helped people with ideas and how to put them into action.
Next time I think I'll try to help with the advertisement side of the project.

                                   Jaffa Slice!

Here is an Explanation of Jaffa Slice from "Taste", It reads " Old School Jaffas get a fun new spin in this tempting slice.


                          How to make Jaffa Slice

Jaffa Slice

Ingredients for Base

1. 1 cup of plain flour
2. 80g of chopped butter
3. 2 Tablespoons of brown sugar
4. 1 egg yolk
5. 1 ½  tablespoons of chilled water

Ingredients for topping

1. 200g pkt of Allen's Jaffas lollies
2. ½ a cup of plain flour
3. ¼ a cup of self raising flour
4. ⅓ a cup of cocoa powder
5. 1 ½ a cup of brown sugar
6. 1 tsp of orange rind
7. 200g of melted butter
8. Three lightly whisked eggs

Instructions

1. Firstly, Preheat the oven to 160 to 180 on the fan forced setting. Gently spray a 20 x 30cm slice pan with oil, then place baking paper around the inside of the pan with two sides overhanging
2. Secondly, Process flour, Sugar and butter until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add the egg yolk and the water till it all starts to come together. Now press evenly over the prepared pan
3. After that, Bake for 15 minutes till golden brown and cooked through. Then place aside to cool
4.  Place Jaffas into a sealable bag and wrap up in a towel. Now use a rolling pin to crush the jaffas until crushed through, Save 2t  of crushed Jaffa
5. Sift the rest of the flour and cocoa into a large bowl. Stir in the sugar and orange rind. Now make a hole in the middle. Add the butter and eggs till combined. Now spread the mix over the base with a light sprinkle of crushed Jaffa pressing into the mix. Bake for 23 to 30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Set aside to cool completely. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and sprinkle the rest of the crushed Jaffa.

Term 4 PBL Driving Question

Hi guys, This blog will be about my driving question for PBL. The question is "How can I celebrate who I am?" In other words it means" How can I express my culture to others." On Monday everyone drew out a country like New Zealand, The Netherlands, Spain etc out of a hat. In each country there would at least be 3 or 4 people in a county group. My country is New Zealand. This week we have to choose a game or a skill that is a popular sport in that country. Next week we will make a food item from that country. The food Item I think that I'll do is Fish N Chips. PBL driving question

Hi guys and welcome back to my blog. I'm really excited to announce that our driving for term two is...  " What will the Future Ask of US". We have been looking into this question over the past two days. The first thing that we did was we got into groups of four and discussed what are the biggest problems today in our world. After that we went back into the middle and said our ideas and the groups who had the same ideas or close would put up their hand and the teachers would write down how many groups there was. Next we used a website that tells you the percentage of a robot taking your job. This was lots of fun and have you done something like this? SEE YOU LATER!

Lights, Camera, Action, Lets go!

Hi guys! I have officially done my drama! Here is my amazing video!

Sorry for the light and sound quality it was that time of day when the sun shines straight into your face. It was an amazing feeling going live and doing the drama in front of a little audience behind the camera. I think we set the bar high and we went even higher! There are sections that you fit under like storytelling, website, coding, commercial and open. My group is under storytelling and that is all I can say right now. We all have made a digital project on how to show greatness.  Thank you for reading! Have you ever entered in a Digi awards?

PBL

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about cultural stories and the big question was;
What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?

First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas.  Culture is Where you are from, Traditions, Religions, Holidays, Stories, Reunions and Celebrations.
Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and heritage. I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.
In Literacy we read and discussed myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends. I read Hatupatu and the Bird Woman .I retold the legend of Hatupatu and the Bird Woman in my own words.

We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains. Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork, some worked hard on organising the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

Reflection:
For our production I contributed by play music on the guitar and also the ukulele.

I think the show might impact on others by the music and the acting that brings the storey alive.

What I learned about working with others was hidden music talents.

PBL

PBL, How can my hands, head and heart create a healthier me.

On Tuesday the 29 of May 2018 we had our parents come in and see our PBL. My friend and I did a Scratch Animation. The Animation is about a bear who tells you what type of food is good for fitness and sleeping. We showed our animation on a big TV. There were four subjects your could do. They were Nutrition, Mindfulness, Brain Science and Physical Activity. My Friend and I chose Physical Activity. Our driving question was what type of food is best for fitness and sleeping.


We had about seven parents come and look at our Animation. We both liked saying the introduction and feeling nerves while the animation was playing. Check out the Animation below!
