Novel Study Slides

Hi guys this blog will be about my novel sides. But first let me tell you about how we got here. So this term the teachers after morning tea made our hub like a restaurant but instead of food there were different books to read the first couple of pages of. After we have read five books we would write down how we liked the books and what the ranking was out of the five. A few weeks later the teachers have tried to get us into groups that had the same top book. We would get into our groups and start to read the book. The book that I chose was "Slid The Corner". After that we got given a slide with different tasks to do like talk about the main character like their traits and so on. Here is my starting slide that we needed to copy the first paragraph and then make an annotated drawing on google drawings about this. Here is my starting slide.

Maths for Week 8

Hi guys. This week for my maths we have been looking at data from a heart rate table. After that we would put the data into a graph. Here is the table.

  A variable is things that you change when your trying to find data. As you can see the variables are 2 Min Walk, 2 Mins of Star Jumps, 2 Mins of Sit Ups and 2 Min Sprint. From this our graph has been formed. Here it is.

 

After we made our chart we made three conclusions from the results. 1. All the participants heart rates were the highest in the 2 Min Sprint. 2. All the participants heart rates were the lowest in the two Min Walk. 3. And that overall Tim had the highest heart rate of the group. Finished Narrative on the Future

Hi guys this blog will be about my finished narrative writing. Before I show you my writing I'll tell you about how I feel and what I think I can improve on. I think that my piece of writing is to my full potential and I think I could work on my use of words. As i'm not going to put my whole story here i'll just put my opening paragraph. Here it is... 

It’s been over 40 years since 2019 and a lot has changed since then... “Crackle..Crackle...The last survivors who are on this sad and dead world please come to Poland and there is a shelter in Warsaw for you. Please come as soon as possible because there are extreme amounts of radiation in countries like Germany, Russia, India and America. Come as soon as possible”. Crackle...Crackle. “Did you hear that guys! We can go back home to Poland”! Says Jake. “ Do we take the risk or say in our own bunker”? Says Ben. “Come on Ben, we either stay here and die of starvation or go to a bunker with food, water and shelter”!  Says Jake. “Fine we'll go if you think”. Says Ben. “Ben Starts staring at Jake”. “ Why are you staring at me like that”. “Aren’t you gonna start packing”? Says Jake. “Oh”. Says Ben. “ OK it’s time to go”. Says Jake. “Three, Two, One Here we go”. Yells Ben. “Wow… This place is crazy, come on, we need to go to that old plane graveyard in wellington, come on we need to get a move on”. Says Jake. “Where on the road again, can’t wait to be back home again, can’t wait to see my friends”. Sing’s Ben. “Will you cut it out”! Yells Jake. “Look we have arrived”.

Volunteering in the community

This week we have been volunteering by helping the people in the Food bank, (the Food bank is the one that I did), Help remove graffiti or help in the curtain bank. Here is the explanation's of what we did at these places. First of all, a group of people goes to 229 Tuam St in Christchurch city. (This is the curtain bank) What the group does there is they get some curtains and fold them, put them in bags and then label them. The next one was graffiti removal. They went to a place round the avonside district. They went and painted over graffiti and also painted fences. And last but not least the food bank. At the food bank you take turns stacking shelf's and putting food into the boxes that will be brought to people who have rung up and said that they need food. At the food bank the first thing I did was stacking shelf's. Then I went to put the food in the boxes. In the box there would be... Three bars of chocolate, Two boxes of Oreo's, Two boxes of crackers, Two boxes of cracker thins, One box of coffee mix, Four rolls of toilet paper, One big packet of Hula Hops/ Circle potato chips, One carton of milk and a bit more that I can't remember. This charity is amazing because only one person is payed and the rest are volunteers. Thanks for coming to my blog and have you volunteered in your community?
