                                   Jaffa Slice!

Here is an Explanation of Jaffa Slice from "Taste", It reads " Old School Jaffas get a fun new spin in this tempting slice.


                          How to make Jaffa Slice

Jaffa Slice
Ingredients for Base
  1. 1 cup of plain flour
  2. 80g of chopped butter
  3. 2 Tablespoons of brown sugar
  4. 1 egg yolk
  5. 1 ½  tablespoons of chilled water
Ingredients for topping
  1. 200g pkt of Allen's Jaffas lollies
  2. ½ a cup of plain flour
  3. ¼ a cup of self raising flour
  4. ⅓ a cup of cocoa powder
  5. 1 ½ a cup of brown sugar
  6. 1 tsp of orange rind
  7. 200g of melted butter
  8. Three lightly whisked eggs


Instructions

  1. Firstly, Preheat the oven to 160 to 180 on the fan forced setting. Gently spray a 20 x 30cm slice pan with oil, then place baking paper around the inside of the pan with two sides overhanging
  2. Secondly, Process flour, Sugar and butter until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add the egg yolk and the water till it all starts to come together. Now press evenly over the prepared pan
  3. After that, Bake for 15 minutes till golden brown and cooked through. Then place aside to cool
  4.  Place Jaffas into a sealable bag and wrap up in a towel. Now use a rolling pin to crush the jaffas until crushed through, Save 2t  of crushed Jaffa
  5. Sift the rest of the flour and cocoa into a large bowl. Stir in the sugar and orange rind. Now make a hole in the middle. Add the butter and eggs till combined. Now spread the mix over the base with a light sprinkle of crushed Jaffa pressing into the mix. Bake for 23 to 30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Set aside to cool completely. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and sprinkle the rest of the crushed Jaffa.
